NBA Changes Pt 2 Shaq, Ariza, and Turkoglu
New picked up Cleveland Cavaliers center Shaquille O’Neal will wear No. 33 on the back of his wine and gold jersey in the upcoming 2009 -2010 next season. The Phoenix suns traded Shaq to the Cavs for center Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic, a 2010 second round draft pick and cash.
Shaq, being his typical “Big Aristole” self is already making predictions for the new season and his new team with his quote to the press:
“My motto is very simple: Win a ring for the King” – Shaquille O’Neal
Hedo Turkoglu (16.8 pts 5.3 rebs) was the most clutch player on Eastern Conference champion Orlando Magic during the 2009 playoffs.. He like Ron Artest is looking to excersize his right to free agency availability. He was between negtioations of either returning to Orlando (desolved with their recent new addition of Vince Carter) and going to Portland to join star players Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge on the very talented Trail Blazers. He actually spend 3 days in Portland meeting with management for trade negotiations before shocking the world by signing a five-year $53 million deal with the Toronto Raptors.
Small forward Trevor Ariza averaged 8.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists for the Lakers last season and was this week picked up by the Houston Rockets. He was a very vital part in Los Angeles’ championship victory and provided a lot of game winning moments on both the offensive and defensive end. The defensive specialist and cluth three point shooter is expected to fit well into Artest’s former role in Houston’s starting lineup.
