Too Many Lies on Too Many Blogs (PT 1)

pinocchioCLICK HERE FOR PART 2

The popularity of social networking has brought both the good and the bad.  It has become a boom for online shopping, promotion, and communication.  In contrast to that and the ever popular need for online entrepreneurship, emailing, music, etc, etc the Internet has brought forth a ton of negativity.  Online scams, identity theft, spammers, Internet “thugs”, fake profiles, and sex scandals are also at an all time high.  In addition to that some people will do ANYTHING to gain popularity and seek attention.  It makes sense, attention brings money (ask any falling star who’s been “subject”" to release of a sex tape).

Prime example of all of this is blog sites.  Blogging has become one of the most popular channels for communicating online.  They provide a means to express a thought or event in a personal and creative way.  There are hundreds of thousands of personal blogs and also professional ones for businesses, news sites, and those that provide how-to’s, and industry information.  [The best one out right now is www.awkWORDsilence.com hehe].

This race to have the most viewed and “best” blog can be quite lucrative.  You can make cake from search engine ad words, sell products, charge for memberships, and can also even charge other sites to place their advertisements on your pages. BUT this will only work if you can get people to visit the site.

Here at AS we pride ourselves at being different.  Although not everything posted is a completely unheard of and universally unique article, one would be hard pressed to find more original commentary in a panel style posting format. As of late, a lot of OTHER sites have been charged with releasing lots of false information intentionally with hopes of ensuring their content is original “breaking” news.  The goal is to amaze the audience in such a tremendous way that it will create an instant buzz and drive a large amount of viewers at once. Thus, increasing the site’s web presence and bringing in more money.

Wow how ridiculous. To me sites that do this are lower than the fake myspace rapper who spams my email each day hoping to get me to listen to his unmastered, poorly recorded freestyle that he made over someone else’s copy written beat, while swearing that he has a million plays and is amidst contract negotiations with Sony, Universal, and Columbia Records (by the way, smh “Bro I know that you bought a program to get those plays padded”)..  Just like these guys make it hard to give new Internet artists a chance, sites that do this discredit the industry as a whole and it is sickening.

To all of those FAKE ASS websites posting BULLSHIT for instant attention, (excuse my French) WE HATE YOU. But your efforts are futile against the masses, we will prevail.  To all you viewers wondering to know what sparked this article [you all should] click here for PART 2 with examples.

The drive of a dollar does not make me wanna holler…. as of late I’m truly seeing what lengths ppl will go to in order to make money… most things on the internet can be faked, and shame on those record companies signing talentless losers off of myspace plays..
