You Owe YouTube Money!

When I heard about this I was shocked! My jaw hit the ground! For anybody with a website or blog listen up, pay close attention, because you probably owe YouTube some money, and they’re collecting, afterall it is a recession…

ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authurs, & Publishers) Sued Google’s YouTube and won! A district judge has ordered YouTube to pay $1.61 million in royalties to U.S. songwriters, and $70,000 per month going forward. So why should we be worried???  Because ASCAP is setting its sights on users of the video-sharing site. Welcome to the exciting world of copyright licensing, blogger; you may already owe gobs of money! ASCAP licenses the performance rights for music, collecting royalties for its songwriter members when their songs are played in certain contexts.

Keep an eye out for ASCAP in the subject title in your emails LOL! I personally wont stop lol sorry videos are a very important part of my blogging, so like N.E.R.D. said “It won’t be long til you see me on the news!”
